The ASB Bank attempted to smash the Guinness World Record for playing the world's longest tennis game ever recorded. The digital tennis court spread from Auckland all the way to Christchurch, 1000 kilometres away.

"Say wha- ?" I hear you say. It's all quite simple really. The concept, designed by Saatchi & Saatchi, was to virtually cut a tennis court in half. Half the court was set up in Auckland while the other half was set up in Christchurch. Each side had a large screen showing the other side of the court across the country.

Setting up the shots was the tricky part. So, each side had a giant net cast in front of the screen. This net, care of Rush Digital Interactive, would then catch the ball you hit towards your opponent, measuring the speed and angle of your hit. Two machines on the other side would then spit out the ball with the same angle and speed as you would've. Easy.

The day itself was umpired by none other than Jay Reeve.

The footage is currently sitting with the Guinness World Records to confirm whether New Zealand has indeed created the world's longest tennis game.
