Overview

The Little Bird (LB) Unbakery started as a humble cafe off Ponsonby Road serving raw, plant based food, which is consistently and surprisingly even more delicious than more unhealthy alternatives. Everyone obviously agrees as after opening two more cafes and publishing a best-selling recipe book, LB's founder Megan May, has continued her reign over raw food and released a recipe app.

Yup that's right, for $7.50, iPhone users can get their mitts on an interactive catalogue of over 100 raw, plant based recipes. Curated by Megan with help from Little Bird's chefs, each recipe features photography by Lottie Hedley as well as a video showing you tips and tricks to help you nail each dish.

It features a wide variety of recipes from smoothies to snacks, breakfast and dinner; all gluten-free, dairy free, vegan, mostly raw, vegan and paleo and without refined cane sugar. Megan's obviously excited about the release saying, "With the app we get to go one step further and share the amazing food we create down here at our end of the world with the rest of the globe."

Coming from a rural background on an organic farm, Megan learned the benefits of raw food early in life. After struggling with poor health and being diagnosed with several food allergies, Megan began to experiment with the connection between food and wellness. She eventually found that recovery was possible with the help of a predominantly raw, wholefoods diet - a discovery which eventually led to the creation of Little Bird as we know it.

iPhone users can purchase the app here. Android users, will need to become friends with iPhone users while the Android version is in development.
