One might say that the trend for converted trailers is getting somewhat out of hand. From food truck trailers, to portable beauty bars, pet groomers on wheels, to tow-around swimming pools, the need for traditional brick and mortar buildings is nearing extinction. And to be honest, we’re not mad about it. Every service offering can be made more convenient for the consumer, more economical for the provider, and more awesome for everyone involved by simply chucking a set of wheels onto the base and towing the compact service trailer behind your car.

The potential of trailers is insurmountable, to the point where we are all wondering, why have we formerly used them for such mundane tasks as freight for moving house, and transporting horses to the racecourse? We have been actively oppressing trailers, and preventing them from living up to their full potential for years. Until now, when we are letting the trailers be whatever they want to be. Dream big, we tell them. And we will offer nothing but support.

And with that winning attitude, it is of little wonder how trailers have finally done it. They’ve hit the pinnacle of their abilities, and it is better than you could have ever imagined. Surf Saunas: because why wouldn't you want to tow around your very own steam room? The converted trailers are cylindrical and lodge-y in appearance. They can be adjusted to accommodate any number of steamers, from an intimate duo, to a communal octet of saunees. Made of Western Red Cedar because the wood is naturally rot resistant and antimicrobial - for ultimate hygiene while you steam; as well as hardware made of galvanised stainless steel - so the skeleton of the trailer won’t rust or erode with sea and salt exposure. What’s more, grab the optional off-road add-on comprising a set of wide tires, mounted shovel, and hi-lift jack that’ll help the trailer escape even the trickiest of terrain. A perfect addition for those rugged, macho, mountain men, who wouldn't say no to a little pore-stimulating steam every now and again.

As the name of the genius suggests, the idea was the brainchild of a group of dedicated surfers, who wouldn't be deterred from their passion for the Pipeline by a little season called winter. But they also decided that after demonstrating their toughness in the waves, they were well deserved of a little thawing post-surf. Skiers and snowboarders alike soon caught onto the notion, and we say it is only a matter of time before hikers, divers, fishermen, and cyclists soon jump on the bandwagon too. And why stop there? Why limit the potential of the Surf Sauna to extreme sportsmen and women? Calling all soccer mums who get a little shivery on the sidelines and uni students who can’t justify a cab fare home from town in mid-July, all aboard the Surf Sauna.

There is only one, by the way. It is on sale for $17,950, shipping not included. Get in quick.
