'Flamping' may well become the outdoor recreation phenomenon of the 21st century. (What do you mean you've never heard of it?) It's obviously a combination of flying and camping. However, the activity's future depends on the success of a new Kickstarter campaign, which promises to make the world's first flying bicycle available to the people.

The Paravelo, designed by XploreAir, can soar up to 4000 feet up in the sky and can travel at speeds of 15 mph on the ground, certainly offering an exciting alternative to your standard retro push bike experience.

There's no clear verdict yet on the safety of this invention, despite its built-in GPS tracker and strobe handlebars. However, the makers of the Paravelo claim it is easy to operate, doesn't require a license and "heralds an era of safe, practical and affordable personal flight." Cycle enthusiasts who don't have a fear of heights and adrenalin junkies around the world will most definitely be watching where this innovation leads.
