Overview

If you’ve ever felt the urge to transform your everyday observations about weather, lunch or traffic into poetry, but never quite had the finesse to pull it off, then Poetweet could be your new best friend.

The tweet-based poetry generator is the digital handy work of Brazilian cultural centre b_arco and comes in both Portuguese and English.

To transform your everyday 140-character musings into modern-day masterpieces, all you have to do is enter your personal Twitter handle and choose one of three poem types - a sonnet, a rondel, or an indriso. Poetweet then performs some literary magic by trawling through your tweet history and narrowing them down to fit the specific poem structures - based on the number of lines, rhyming and syllables.

Depending on the user, the results can range from near-perfect works of art to nonsensical garbage. Quite possibly the best part of the site is that you can generate poems from any given public Twitter handle; think Hollywood celebrities, politicians and controversial sports stars.

Users need to have posted at least 160 tweets for it to work.
