2am Phone Call
A phantasmagoria of pillow talk and expressive passion.
Overview
When actor Georgie Silk and choreographer Natalie Maria Clark found out that they were both creating shows with a similar vibe, the duo decided to join forces in a collaborative piece titled 2am Phone Call.
When acting and dancing collide, the result doesn't always have to end up in musical theatre. Instead, the synergistic pairing explores pertinent topics through poetic dialogue and expressive movement in a harmonious, cohesive way.
"I love dance," explains Silk, who chose to pursue a career in acting instead. "I'm really interested in this crossover of my own and Natalie's skills — we're both interested in sharing our stories as young women."
As a trained dancer and director of dance company Black Sheep Productions, Clark has also explored acting in her latest work Old Tricks New Dogs, an anthology of her previous shows, where she narrated the entire show herself as a hilarious matriarch dance teacher.
2am Phone Call encapsulates a lucid dream in a memorising, unique performance by two of New Zealand's most promising artists. Book your tickets to partake in a phantasmagoria of pillow talk and expressive passion.
