Overview
Since his humble beginning in the pages of Detective Comics #27, Batman is now one of the world's most recognisable superheroes. Just in time for the 80th anniversary of the Dark Knight, Auckland's Academy Cinemas is hosting a 365-minute marathon of classic 1960s Batman.
Starting from 12pm, the event will screen four double-episodes from season one of the television show starring Adam West and Burt Ward, each centred around one of four iconic villains — The Riddler, The Penguin, The Joker and Catwoman.
After a 45-minute break, the show will continue with Batman: The Movie (1966), which has all four villains teaming up to fight Batman and Robin in a feature-length caper.
The special event will feature DJ Matthew Crawley on the decks and prizes for the best dressed.
