Overview

When the silly season rolls around every year we are inundated with people selling us things. Jingle bell rock on repeat, terrible secret Santa gifts, the impending arrival of insane relatives, fast emptying bank accounts, lonely drinkers and loved up families, death threats from Santa Claus and...wait, what?

The latest bout of Monologues penned by New Zealands most prolific playwright Thomas Sainsbury are due to hit the stage this week. His Christmas Monologues aptly named A Krazy Kristmas is bound to be an eventful evening.

Expect a series of short plays peppered with a dark twist, in the vein of black comedy. A myriad of characters ranging from awkward relatives, thieves, home shopping presenters and Christmas carolers in all their uninhibited festive glory.

Last years play showcased stories of a Mall Santa battling with some disturbing desires, a Mall security guard, driven to insanity due to 'Feliz Navidad' on repeat, and a young girl accidentally super gluing herself to the roof whilst trying to catch reindeer. None of these stories ended well.

A perfect opportunity to get along and see some of Auckland's up and coming actors and get into the festive spirit. Nothing like a good giggle at others misfortune to get you feeling all christmassy
