Overview
Beyond new Central American restaurant, Inti, Peruvian cuisine is fairly unchartered territory in Auckland. You may have heard of lima beans and ceviche, but the cuisine reaches far beyond the obvious thanks to a melting pot of immigrants from Europe, Asia and Africa. Together with Ceres Organics, celebrity chef Nadia Lim is set to showcase the fusion of flavours synonymous with the nation through a one-off Peruvian restaurant.
On Friday 6 October, inner-city restaurant Pilkingtons will be transformed into a pop-up paying homage to Peru and the farmers responsible for its most prized crop. Quinoa (keen-wah) will be a main focus of the five-dish menu that will focus on sharing, tasting plates and new flavours. The tickets price includes a pisco sour on arrival, five dishes and a goodie bag to take away. Biodynamic wine from Millton Vineyards and Winery will be available to purchase by the glass.
