Overview

Wellington collective The Sensonauts serves up everything from DJ lessons to massage with bass music. Now, as part of Wellington On a Plate, they're looking to combine taste and sound in a one-off sensory adventure.

A chef and a musician (to be announced) will collaborate for an inventive menu of delights, where they craft certain qualities with each item. As each food item hits the tastebuds, you'll hear a matching piece of music designed to tease out the utmost sensory aliveness. It may start with something that's light, fresh and zingy, and then move to a concoction that's rounded, earthy and dark.

The food and music journey will be crafted live at Random Films in Mt Cook.

Visa Wellington On a Plate is set to return for its 12th year from 1–31 October with more than 100 flavour-packed events, special dining menus, burgers and craft cocktails.
