Overview
Don’t you love it when two good things come together to make an even better good thing? Like Iron Man and Thor in The Avengers. Or like pasta and meat in spag bol. Or like Will Ferrell and John C Reilly in any of their movies together. Mostly Step Brothers though. Well for those whose foodie-fetish is only rivalled by their passion for fashion, the ultimate mash-up event “A Taste of Fashion” is hitting Britomart.
The food/fashion fusion is a progressive lunch event, in which five of New Zealand’s top designers will be providing a sneak peak into their Spring/Summer collections, each at five different eateries around Britomart. The curtains open with canapés, champagne and a show by local designer Taylor at Tyler Street Garage. Following this, the initial group of ninety will be divided into smaller groups and sent to their next venue. Ebisu will host Zambesi, Juliette Hogan will be showing at Ortolana and Kathryn Wilson will be set up in Ostro. The groups will reunite at Ostro City Terrace for a show by WORLD accompanied by a coffee and some petit fours to top off all the fashun fun.
And the best part about these things that I know you would've been wondering about the whole time, but I’ll be kind and put your minds at ease before you even buy your ticket. Yes there are goodie bags. Good ones. There is also free valet parking for the show-goers which is a huge plus in car-unfriendly Brito.
Once you’ve witnessed all the looks and munched your way through five happy courses, each of the collections will be available to the attendees for purchase that very afternoon. Potentially dangerous on the wallet, and you might buy a size too big considering all the food you’ve just consumed.
It is a weird collaboration, the food x fashion fusion, but I’m into it. I think it should become a thing. Foodshun?
