Overview

During the coldest time of the year Auckland Museum is opening its doors after hours for an event that brings together food, music and comradery.

The After Hours event, taking place at the end of June, is set to bring the museum to life in a completely unique way, offering nourishment and entertainment to take the edge off and bring a bit of cheer to the dark nights.

The specially decorated grand foyer will be the stage for live music by Chris Melville, winter-themed food and beverages including mulled wine, and a host of crafts and games including 'bitchin' bingo'.

Chris Melville, accompanied by his band, will bring his soulful jazz tunes that hark back to the era of crooners and swing dancing. Lively characters will greet attendees and dancing is encouraged. You also have the opportunity to explore some of the galleries, gaining a new perspective on the exhibitions enjoyed every day at the museum.

Leave the kids at home and make it a date with the event set at R18+.
