AKL18 feat Miami Horror + Set Mo

Overview

UK house and big beat duo Basement Jaxx unleashed the weather gods at the debut outing of AKL17 last year. No one batted a soggy eyelid and the torrential conditionals only added to the nautical setting at Mantells on the Water.

The summer-ish soiree by the sea is coming back to the Auckland waterfront for 2018, this time hopefully with some sunshine and indietronica darlings Miami Horror leading the bill. Originally a solo project, the Melbourne group now operates as a full band, combining real-time production and live instrumentation. You may already be familiar with dance-floor bangers 'Sometimes', 'Moon Theory' and 'I Look To You' featuring Kimbra.

Also jumping the ditch will be Sydney dance producers Set Mo, hot from their debut performance at Rhythm and Vines. Flying the NZ flag will be acclaimed Onehunga producer High Hoops and Dan Aux.

The second edition of AKL18 will take place at Mantells on the Water on Sunday 28 January. And you needn't worry about the day after — it's a public holiday.
