The newly renovated Hollywood Cinema, which was built in 1915 and is most famous for screening The Rocky Horror Picture Show from 1978 to 1988, is now back on its legs and reinstated as a soon-to-be cornerstone for Avondale community events. Come the 10th and 11th of February, the cinema will be hosting Aldous Harding.
Harding's approach to music has been described as "with a dancer's grace and a boxer's stance", her wheelhouse stark yet ethereal gothic folk. The tour will see her debut her sophomore album Party live on home soil.
Support on Friday will come from Robert Scott (from The Bats) and breakthrough cult poet Hera Lindsay Bird whose poems like 'Keats is Dead so Fuck me From Behind' have made everyone fall in love with her. Saturday's support features Hera Lindsay Bird again, Oscar Dowling and SoccerPractise.
