Overview

Drummer Andrew Dickeson has now elevated himself beyond his universally accepted perch as a stellar sideman and is now staking his claim as a distinguished bandleader. Playing a one off show at the 1885 Britomart, thanks to the Creative Jazz Club, this is your chance to enjoy a fine wine and listen to world class musicians, between the reasonable hours of 8-10pm (you can kick on afterwards should you please as musicians jump up and jam).

As a stalwart of the Australian jazz scene, and sideman to such international greats as Johnny Griffin, Junior Cook, Eddie Henderson, Lee Konitz, Kirk Lightsey, Mark Murphy and many, many more, he has learned much of the art of being a leader. His music is energetic, exciting and, just as importantly, entertaining.

"Andrew Dickeson, like his mentors and heroes, ensures that his music comes from the heart and is ALWAYS swinging hard!" - George Coleman Jr, NYC 2011.
