The Animal Collective performance has now been cancelled.

This is without a doubt a certifiable add-to-the-calendar, and if you're unfamiliar with the band's music a must youtube-and-check-them-out. I became a big fan of Animal Collective when I accidentally downloaded their album from iTunes only to find myself constantly looping their tracks.

Growing out of childhood friendships established on the rural outskirts of Baltimore on the East Coast of the United States, Animal Collective have honed an astonishingly broad and inviting sonic palette, which encompasses everything from tribal drums to field recordings, always remaining uniquely compelling due the richly textured melodic instincts of the band. Seriously, just do a search and listen, it's all good.

This will be a return visit to Auckland for the group, and they will without a doubt be rocking the Powerstation to no end. Get along. It's better than Monday night TV. Promise.
