Architects of Air: Daedalum
Venture through this giant inflatable, rainbow-coloured labyrinth.
Overview
Following a sell-out season of Luminarium: Arboria in 2015, Nottingham's Architects of Air will return this October with another stunning pop-up inflatable structure.
The colourful walk-through maze Daedalum, complete with 19 egg-shaped domes, takes its lead from Daedalus, father of Icarus and the architect of the labyrinth of King Minos of Crete. The Main Dome features an innovative indirect illumination that varies the colour inside according to the dome's position and the sun's direction. The 600-piece pattern of the Main Dome ceiling was inspired by Rome's Pantheon and the Gustave Doré drawing of angels circling heavenward in Dante's paradise.
Visitors can step inside the fantastical world of colour and light this spring. It's set to pop up in Aotea Square from 3–11 October. A waitlist for tickets is currently open — it's recommend to book priority queue tickets when they become available.
