Overview

Indie: short for independent and according to the Urban Dictionary; a rare breed of artistic individuals who sincerely care about issues. Indie apparently is also cooler than emo.

Now that we have that out of the way, introducing the Auckland Indie Market featuring more than 80 stalls of ethical and independently-made goods. There will be live bands and buskers to entertain you, flash tattoo by Sacred to tempt you, and food trucks and stalls to sink your teeth into. This is conscious shopping at it’s best and if you are dedicated enough you may even get all of your Christmas shopping done early.

Organised by the crew who run the Matakana Indie Markets, this is first and only time the markets will head to our little big city so expect them to put on one crazy good event.

Whether you’re a vintage clothing connoisseur, on the hunt for a locally designed and crafted skateboard or are simply wanting to buy ethically made childrens wear, there is bound to be something for everyone. Like all events at the ASB Showgrounds, get in early to avoid the rush. Oh and check out their Instagram for some pre-event drooling.
