Overview

Delivering a thrilling combination of mind-bending acrobatics and immersive symphony, the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra have paired with New Zealand's leading circus theatre company The Dust Palace in their first joint offering, Midnight.

With shades of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's DreamMidnight offers a veritable feast for the senses as high flying acrobats balance, contort and amaze to masterpieces including Debussy's Clair de Lune and Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake — all the while transporting viewers into a magical forest full of the sublime.

Featuring some of New Zealand's most talented actors, musicians, dancers and aerialists, conductor David Kay calls the production one of the most innovative concerts this year, and we agree.

Equally suitable for an outing with Grandma or your latest love interest, acrobatics and orchestra are always a winning combination to inspire wonder, provide entertainment and have you trying a move or two once you arrive safely home.
