Overview
After several shifts in and out of COVID-19 alert levels, the Auckland Rainbow Parade will finally hit the pavement on Saturday, March 27.
The colourful march will see nearly 1500 LGBTQI+ rainbow whānau move on foot and via un-motorised floats from Tole Street to Williamson Ave from 6pm. Organisers are predicting spectator numbers of around 10,000 lining Ponsonby Road.
Following the parade, crowds will be treated to a carnival-style performance from Brazilian dancers and drag queen performers setting the scene for the rest of Ponsonby Street Festival beginning at 7pm.
