Overview
Meat alternatives bought up real estate in the meat aisle and James Cameron produced a controversial doco about the benefits of going vegan — 2019 really saw the plant-based diet really take off. Why? There's a lot to be said of eating vegetation; a roll call of health benefits, sustainable significance and the opportunity to expose and try new flavours.
Rounding up some of the best ethically minded vendors in the city for another round, the Auckland Vegan Food Festival will return in March 2020. The second outing of the dedicated vegan food truck festival will take place on Sunday, 8 March, 2019 at Corban Estate Arts Centre. It arrives courtesy of Auckland Food Truck Collective, who have previously presented Britomart's Street Kai on Takutai and Urban Street Fest.
The 2020 event will again include an variety of vegan food trucks serving their take on vegan street food. Last year's event included The Rolling Pin, Wise Boys Burgers, Double Dutch Fries, Vege Bang Bang, Otherside, Lalele Organic Gelato and many more offering up plant-based goodness.
The family friendly food celebration will come complete with an eco marketplace featuring local crafts, plant-based health and beauty products, clothing and accessories, plus live entertainment, cooking demonstrations and wellness talks. Stand by for further information.
