Those keen to be the next (insert famous music manager's name here) are invited to attend a free seminar in Auckland to learn about the fundamentals of the music industry. The Back to Basics session, presented by the Music Managers Forum NZ (MMF), will focus on all the useful information new managers need to know including contracts, setting up your band’s business, how to put together a strategic plan, marketing and promotion, collating a press pack, as well as advice on how to plan an album release and putting together a tour.

Three music industry professionals will be on hand to share some indispensable knowledge and to answer questions from attendees. They include Cushla Aston - manager of Thomas Oliver, Estere and Louis Baker, Lorraine Barry - manager of Dave Dobbyn, Dukes, Mark Vanilau, Glass Owls, Nomad and Benny Tipene, and Entertainment Lawyer David McLaughlin (McLaughlin Law).

The seminar is free and open to all and drinks and nibbles will be provided. Book your place by emailing [email protected].
