Overview

Auckland's favourite arts venue Basement Theatre is hosting their first Basement and Breakfast event for the winter. Start your morning off the right way with this unique event that not only includes a play reading but also tasty baked goods.

The Basement is home to a variety of theatre makers, dancers, visual artists, poets, musicians, comedians and everyone in between. It's known for the local talent and showcasing the best new works that the arts scene has to offer, bringing a fresh perspective to the world of theatre.

This year an emerging piece called Non Flower Elements will be taking to the stage. Inspired by dance, clowning, and game, the one-hour piece explores the topic of self-investigation.

The popular event will consist of a script reading/performance followed by a 15-minute Q&A session, where you can exchange your thoughts for a croissant and a coffee. Sounds like a good trade if you ask me.

So, whether you're a theatre fanatic or simply just want to try something new then head along to this early morning event and fuel your brain for the day a head.
