Overview

It's one of the world's most powerful thirst triggers, but when it comes down to cold hard facts, bacon is more likely to be paired with eggs (71 percent of the time) than a frosty one. Good news, parched readers. Those statistics are about to change (ever so slightly) as Sweat Shop Brew Bar presents the 2019 Beer & Bacon Festival.

Umami levels will be off the radar at the third annual event this August. The Freemans Bay micro-brewery will have the beer element covered with its latest selection, and there will be fresh drops being poured from Tuatara, Urbanaut, Lagunitas, Deep Creek, Black Dog and Laughing Bones. Elsewhere, attendees will be able to try bacon-infused cocktails and beer, sample bacon treats from a variety of stall holders, and throw bladed weapons thanks to Sweet Axe Throwing.

The main event will be the country's bacon eating championship. As well as getting their fair share of salty goodness, entrants will have the chance of winning a trophy and $500 to spend at Sweat Shop. Think you've got what it takes to chow down a plate full of bacon faster than all the rest?

Tickets include a bacon treat upon arrival.
