Lets face it. Anyone who has spent a decent amount of time in Auckland will know that the central city is probably not the place that most of us want to be on New Years Eve. But whether it's because of a lack of planning, funds, family commitments, or work, for a lot of us spending the biggest night of the year in the city just can't be avoided.
So if you have come to the conclusion that Auckland CBD is going to be it for the night, you might as well make it an absolute steamer. The Britomart Beach Party has without doubt the biggest music lineup of any central city event this New Years Eve and it is no surprise that this event has sold out the past three years in a row.
There will be 20 tonnes of sand, over six music zones, and a relaxed dress code (jandals allowed). It will see many of Britomart's venues come together to create a beach festival vibe, included will be BCC, Northern Steamship, 1885, Orleans, Racket, 1885 Basement, Little Sazerac, Champagne Room, and Better Burger.
The music lineup has quite the local flavour this year, highlights include hip hop legends Che Fu, King Kapisi, and Manuel Bundy, multi-instrumentalist and Kora lead singer Laughton Kora, and reggae and dub maestros Sunshine Sound System. P Diggsss is part of Sunshine Sound System but only plays a handful of gigs with them per year so whether he will be making an appearance for this one is anyone's guess.

(brazil), Frank Booker, Manuel Bundy, Lo Key, Nyntee, Times X Two, Ultan Burke, DJ Lucas, Nigel Love, Matt G, Tido, Zayn Kemp, Dave Hull, plus a special live countdown performance from Taiko Drummers.
