Overview
American rock legend Bruce Springsteen aka The Boss will play in New Zealand for the second time in his 50-year career with two shows at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium.
The 63 year-old and his E Street band were recently voted the best live act in the world based on a poll of musicians, writers and music industry figures, with Rolling Stone describing him as "one of rock's greatest, reliably thrilling live acts". The trip to New Zealand will be part of the epic Wrecking Ball tour, supporting his seventeenth studio album of the same name. Initially setting off in March 2012, the tour has been Springsteen's biggest to date reaching 26 countries and selling 3.5 million tickets. Most shows on the tour have had and average timespan of 3 1/2 hours however his Helsinki concert clocked in as the longest show of his career at a whopping 4 hours and 6 minutes.
Springsteen and band last played here in 2003 at Western Springs to a crowd of 25,000. He will be supported by Australian rock icon Jimmy Barnes.
