Dreaming of ditching our winter and heading north for an Italian summer? As we don't all have flexible jobs and the means to jet off to Rome or Positano, Cinema Italiano is here to give you pizza, espresso and warm Italian nights spent in the comfort of the CBD.

With a rich creative culture, a beautiful language and a plethora of talented filmmakers, actors and cinematic locations, the lineup of films at this mini film festival is sure to make your heart sing 'si per favore'.

Kicking off in Auckland on August 31 and running until September 13, Cinema Italiano is a collection of classic and modern films from Italian filmmakers and films set in the fine countries landscape and cities, sure to inspire and pique the interest of many. The festival kicks off with a classic and crowd favourite, Roman Holiday, with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck.

Other films on offer during the duration of the festival are: Ever Been to The Moon?, a 2015 rom-com involving a down-to-earth farmer and glamorous fashion journalist; Don't Be Bad is another goodie which has been nominated for a few awards too, it's set in the outskirts of Rome, where the characters belong to a world that revolves around hedonism; Italian Race is a film about a 17-year-old aspiring racer and her drug-addicted brother who work together to run their father's auto racing business; Perfect Strangers is a cult classic that is a must watch about seven friends at a dinner party, the attendees place their phones on the table and agree to make all texts and calls public in an attempt to prove that they have nothing to hide.
