Overview

Previously an invite-only occasion, Cinema Peroni is opening up to the general public in 2020 with two ticketed screenings. Located under the stars in Britomart's Takutai Square, the openair event marries Italian film with food and drink for an intimate night out. For its fifth year Cinema Peroni will run between Wednesday, 11 March and Saturday, 14 March 2020, with general admission tickets available to the Friday, 13 March and Saturday, 14 March sessions.

This year, guests will assemble on sun loungers to watch Cannes Palme d'Or-nominated film and 2018 Best Screenplay winner, Happy as Lazzaro. The Alice Rohrwacher-directed feature follows the unlikely bond between a young farmhand and estate manager as they orchestrate a fake kidnapping.

Tickets to the event include a Peroni beer and aperitivo on arrival, plus a three-course dinner by much-loved Britomart restaurant Amano served direct to your seat. Additional drinks will be available to purchase from the bar.

The bar will be open to the public with complimentary aperitivo and live music from 4pm to 6.30pm, before the film kicks off at 7.15pm. Those who are in Takutai Square between 12pm and 2pm will be able to enjoy a complimentary sample of the new zero-alcohol Peroni Libera.
