Overview

Not keen on sitting inside a crowded movie theatre right now? No problem — Auckland Council has your Friday entertainment covered with its annual Cinema Under the Stars series, with a different movie on show outside the iconic Nathan Homestead in Manurewa each Friday this month.

The best part? It's completely free.

Screenings take place on the homestead's veranda, with seating provided and a series of classic flicks on the lineup, including Bellbird, After Hours and Gravity. Organisers ask that attendees be seated around 8pm, with the film set to start after the sun goes down between 8.30-8.45pm. Bring your some blankets and warm clothes — it's going to get a little chillier after the sun goes down.

All screenings will be run in line with Government and MoH restrictions in the current COVID-19 protection framework, and vaccine passes will be required.

Friday, March 11: Bellbird (2019)
Friday, March 18: After Hours (1985)
Friday March 25: Gravity (2013)
