John Vea is an artist that explores the results of gentrification and Pacific migration, often through acts of physical labour.

Concrete is as Concrete Doesn't critiques the western world's need to divide people and the natural world using artificial barriers — think fences and walls. The video installation shows him lay a small number of pavements to create a path across a landscape. Repetition exposes the physical labour and low wages of builders.

An artist who's exhibited extensively and is currently completing a doctorate, John Vea's work is never something to miss.
