This, is exciting. Crystal Castles recently announced a one-off Auckland show at The Studio in January off the back of their Big Day Out tour in Australia. And they're definitely one of the better ones we can pluck from the Aussie line up.
The Toronto-based duo of Alice Glass and Ethan Kath last played in New Zealand in 2011 and made an impression with an aggressive live show despite the fact that Glass was on crutches. That's commitment right there.
The January 15 2o13 date is their first headlining show in New Zealand, and is in support of their third (and again, self-titled) studio album. Just like the previous two albums, Crystal Castles don't disappoint, and if you aren't too broken from the new year celebrations come the 15th, there are few reasons not to get along.
