Overview

Dialogue with a mannequin. What the devil could that all be about? A coming-of-age story about a girl coming to grips with entering adulthood and all the complications, internal battles and emotion dilemmas, of course. AKA a great play to go to when you want bonding time with Mum or a bit of a fun night out with your girlfriends.

In the words of The Carebears (yes, I am quoting The Carebears) "growing up is something to be treasured - but when in the midst of it, growing up feels like like a bedazzled box and more like a cage that we can't wait to be on the other side of; to be a grown up and free from the curious confusion that riddles our young minds. Of course, when we achieve that oh-s0-freeing status, we wish only to return to those carefree versions that we once were." When did those bears get so smart? A pretty spot on summary of growing up, I'd say, and a theme perfectly encapsulated in this solo performance.  A play that helps to illustrate what happens when we attempt to see ourselves through another's eyes.

This play runs from the 21st til the 31st of March at The Basement Theatre, with the exception of the Sunday and the Monday.
