Overview

Drax Project has come a long way. Drax Project (a portmanteau of drums and sax) started as a late night quasi-covers band busking on the streets of Wellington – where the electronic-pop band would play for blurry-eyed kebab-munching bystanders, gig hounds in transit and Big Kumara-goers. When a video of their cover of Macklemore's 'Thrift Shop' garnered the band 20,000 views on Youtube, Drax Project transitioned to playing paid indoor gigs – naming a Sevens wrap party one of their first big sets. Since then, Drax Project have been signed to Universal and have supported SBTRKT and Gorillaz Sound System during the New Zealand leg of their tours.

They're now embarking on their first solo tour of New Zealand on the back of the release of their latest EP T/W/OO, making a stop at Auckland's Neck of the Woods on May 13.
