Overview

The godfather of nineties dance music is coming to New Zealand next February for a brand new festival. Jumping the ditch for its fourth year is Electric Gardens, a boutique festival channelling the park-based electronica popularised by Parklife and Listen Out. The event will take place at Ellerslie Racecourse on Saturday, 2 February with Fatboy Slim leading the bill.

Kiwi audiences can expect the full live show when Fatboy Slim (otherwise known as Norman Cook) takes the stage  — including bonafide hits like 'Right Here, Right Now', 'The Rockafeller Skank' and 'Praise You'. The UK artist last performed in New Zealand at a sold-out show at Vector Arena in 2012, and prior to that, closing the Boiler Room at Big Day Out in 1999.

Organisers have also confirmed that Welsh electronic duo Underworld and Sydney alternative dance group Bag Raiders will be making their way to Auckland for the inaugural event. Local acts include Dick Johnson, Eastern Bloc and K2K.

Presales for Electric Gardens go on sale 1 October with tickets starting at $95.
