Elemental AKL: Secret Party Quest

Overview

You know the 2015 movie The Night Before, where three friends spend a whole pre-Christmas evening working their way through the city to find the party of the year? Well substitute 'Christmas party' for 'Venetian masquerade ball', and you've pretty much got the plot of the evening for Elemental AKL's Secret Party Quest — hopefully sans some of that movie's more illegal plot points.

If you like mystery, intrigue and the occasional quest or two, this is an event you won't want to miss. Run by Papaya Stories, Secret Party Quest is an outdoor quest game that has attendees working in groups of 20 with the guidance of their quest host, to the world of a Venetian masquerade ball.

Masked up, everyone will be playing one of five roles — Jester, Duchess, Casanova, Fortune Teller and Versace – as they roam the city while solving riddles to uncover the secret party location. Basically, to find the locked door and be allowed into the party, you're first going to need to put on your thinking cap. Along your journey you'll meet characters and uncover surprises — it's a hell of a lot more exciting than simply Ubering there. Once at the party, you'll be able to watch immersive arts, dance, and improv. There'll even be a Venetian mask workshop, in case you want to upgrade the mask you wore when you began this grand adventure.

Running on July 23 from 6pm-10.30pm the location of the party, is, of course, a secret, but all the info you need to know will be sent to you upon booking. A single ticket will set you back $38, while a double pass costs $70.
