Overview

While most people are rushing through the streets under the stresses of the silly season, those in the know will be at Ellerslie at the hottest Christmas party in the SuperCity on Wednesday, December 12.

The only social event of its kind in Auckland, its late afternoon start time featuring six races across three hours and a party under the setting sun, is the perfect elixir for a stressful day at the office.

The action on the track doesn’t let up with New Zealand’s finest thoroughbred talent thundering down the home straight every half hour. Trackside will be just as hot thanks to a performance by Tiki Taane, before Ellerslie’s resident DJ kicks things into party mode once the horses are back in the stables.

Ticket packages are available for a range of hospitality options, so whether it’s champagne and sophistication you crave, or relaxing with a beer in the sun, Ellerslie’s Barfoot & Thompson Twilight Summer Series Races are the place to be this hump day.

Gates will open at 3.30pm, with the first race due to run at approximately 4.30pm. The last race of the day will run at approximately 7.30pm – then it’s party time at the Birdcage Bash.
