The Far Side of the Moon
This one-man show is a sci-fi lover's dream.
Overview
While the public is spellbound by the American/Russian space race to the moon, the private lives of two estranged brothers are brought together by their mother's death.
Phillipe, a shy philosopher, is struggling with his thesis concerning the effects of space travel on popular culture. His brother Andre is a successful TV weatherman, and an extrovert with an altogether different perception of the galaxy and its mysteries.
Experience one of Canada's most honoured theatre directors, as Robert Lepage brings his incredible smash hit The Far Side of the Moon to Auckland as part of the Auckland Arts Festival.
Funny and visually stunning, the production provides a unique exploration of both nations and individuals, performed as a one-man show by Yves Jacques. With compelling storytelling, ingenious special effects and an ethereal score from composer Laurie Anderson, The Far Side of the Moon has the potential to be a true masterpiece.
