With a solid lineup of groovy gigs to get you moving over summer, Fat Freddy's Drop is one performance ensured to deliver in January 2017. Known across the country as the band who combine jazz, blues, electronica and soul to create their own style of enhancing, soul-jerking dance music, the seven-piece have had much international success since their inception in 1999 and are set to share why they've become a world-round favourite.

Taking place in the grassy meadows of Villa Maria Estate in Mangere the event will be a summer must, with the combination of great music and summer fun welcoming crowds who are enticed by an electrifying afternoon. The band's trombone player Hopepa aka Joe Lindsay told Concrete Playground, "Auckland crowds are sweet! Right from the start of Freddy's we've always had great Auckland shows. The Villa Maria site is a cool natural amphitheatre with good sight lines and tasty wines. It's gonna be a big night!"
