Overview

First Thursday celebrate their 3rd birthday this Thursday night on Auckland's infamous K'Road for three hours of fun from 6pm 'til 9pm.

Having begun as a single venue arts event in St Kevin’s Arcade in December 2009, the multi-media music, arts and performance evening now delivers a programme of 30 events spread across a total of 22 venues throughout the length of K’ Road.

Sustainability is the theme for this year, which means events will theme around where art meets recycling. Art in all its forms will be celebrated with the programme line-up including a beeswax sculpture by Auckland artist Tiffany Singh, live art outside Cosmic Corner and a ‘meet the makers’ opportunity in the BizDoJo Co-Space, where designers and artisans will be available to discuss their work.

Foxes craft market will be returning to St Kevin’s Arcade, participating galleries will be open late and there’ll be a short film screening at The Film Archive. Portrait sketches while you wait, funky bands in Ironbank, breakdancing competitions and street installations all promise to make First Thursdays third birthday party a night to remember.
