Overview

Having made its debut on Waiheke this year, Flamingo Pier is set to return to the island paradise in January with rejuvenated production and a lineup of seasoned party starters.

Through a combination of street food, booze and open-air disco jams the event aims to be the perfect summer party. The flagship event was founded on a floating pontoon in East London’s Hackney Wick by expats Tom Seaton and Luke Walker. It's has since been called things like "London’s best party" and "top of the popups" by the UK press.

The second New Zealand outing of Flamingo Pier will once again be held within the natural amphitheatre of Waiheke's Rangihoua Estate. As well as returning elements like tree-hung hammocks and cocktails served from a boat, the event will introduce a new dance floor under the forest canopy. The stage will feature music from Chaos in the CBD, Frank Booker and Tim Richards.

The central Sunset Stage will be home to acts like Berlin house DJ Ian Pooley, Weird Together Soundsystem, North Shore Pony Club, and the Flamingo Pier resident DJs.

Of course there's no such thing as a party without nourishment, so travelling slow-cookers Miss Moonshine's will be on hand serving up their low 'n' slow smoked meat; Bearded Clam will have a brand new burger creation on debut, alongside their mouth-watering classics; Te Matuku Oyster Bar will be shucking fresh local varieties, and there will be beverages courtesy of Bedford, Soda & Liquor, CRATE Brewery and Man ‘O War.
