Overview

Freddie Gibbs, the rapper notorious for having beef with some of hip-hop’s elite - as well as his diverse rapping ability, will set foot in New Zealand for two shows.

Hailing from Gary, Indiana, notably one of the most dangerous cities in the US, Freddie Gibbs rose to prominence with his heartfelt rhymes about the struggles of street life. After releasing several mixtapes and moving to Los Angeles, he managed to align himself with big name producers The Alchemist, Red Spyda, Just Blaze, Buckwild, as well as get himself in hot water with the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Young Jeezy and Jim Jones. The ongoing feuds came to a climax last year as gunfire broke out after a performance in Brooklyn.

Luckily he's still around to tell the tale and will be performing at K'Rd's The Studio on February 20. The performance will prior to the release of his second album Lifestyles of the Insane which is due out later this year via his own label ESGN (Evil Seeds Grow Naturally).
