Overview
Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is now staying open later than usual every Friday, allowing visitors to roam the exhibition halls and gift shop until 9pm. Happy hour kicks off in the onsite cafe from 4–6pm, with discounts on selected beer and wine, as well as menu offers and bar snacks.
From there, visitors can stroll through huge contemporary Māori art exhibition Toi Tū Toi Ora, and explore the video installation Mother Tongue by acclaimed Australian artist Angelica Mesiti.
Visitors can also attend a drop-in drawing class with artist and observational drawing tutor, Abbey Lyman. All materials are provided and the drawing sessions are suitable for both complete beginners and accomplished artists.
