Overview
The soundtracks at the malls have changed to a rotating series of Michael Bublé, Beach Boys and Justin Bieber Christmas albums, which can mean only one thing: Christmas is coming sometime in the vague future (albeit probably with a 1-2 month leeway).
To help you avoid too many repeat exposures to Michael Bublé's silky tonsils (even that can get old), the General Collective Market is putting up a special Christmas edition market this November 11, where you can purchase quite unique, bespoke gifts for friends and family long before the Christmas gift buying panic sets in at the malls.
Potential gifts you could purchase at the General Market Collective include lifestyle products, designer homewares, art, fashion and handmade toys — all made by independent designers and creatives from New Zealand.
The marketplace is geared at being family friendly, which translates to face painting stands and free kids colouring sections and LEGO building sections. Street vendors selling food, coffee and wine will also be dotted around the site. What better way to peruse for Christmas gifts than with a wine in hand?
