Overview

Gibbs Farm is now a synonymous icon in the New Zealand art scene. Though as it is closed to the general public for most of the year, unless by appointment, not a lot of us get to experience it.

With acres of fields filled with specially designed works of art from around the globe, it is a rare opportunity to get visit the amazing Gibbs Farm. Located on the Kaipara Harbour, they are opening their gates to the public for one day only this year so a select lucky few can spend their day exploring the gardens and admiring the larger than life sculptures on show.

Among the infamous site-specific sculptures, such as Neil Dawson's play on perspective with a giant piece of paper and one of Anish Kapoors red horns, there will be talks by professionals getting down to the nitty-gritty about select pieces.

With so many incredible works of art on show those lucky few who manage to nab a ticket (or a future appointment) are sure to be in for a treat, exploring their surroundings and getting absorbed with this modern art experience.
