Overview

Hayley Westenra has toured internationally with some of the biggest names in classical music on the planet and is returning to Auckland this week to celebrate 10 years as an accomplished soprano. Her Paradiso 10th Anniversary Homecoming Tour – Westenra’s first New Zealand tour in four years - will promote her album of the same name. She plans to donate some of the proceeds to the Christchurch earthquake relief fund, in support of the city where she grew up.

Pure, the album she released while still in high school, was the fastest-selling international debut album in the history of the UK classical charts. The albums that followed, including; Odyssey (2005), Treasure (2007) and River of Dreams: The Very Best of Hayley Westenra (2008), all showcased her sensational voice and have sold over four million copies worldwide to date.
Now 24, the singer has become a favourite of the British royal family and has sung for such premiers as George W Bush and Tony Blair. She was given the honour of singing the New Zealand national anthem at the Rugby World Cup final 2011.
Don’t miss your chance to hear New Zealand’s most successful performing artist live at the majestic Civic Theatre.
