Overview

Fancy knowing the finest beer pourer in all the land? If so, head along to Heineken Star Serve taking place Wednesday, 12 September at the Viaduct's Headquarters.

Star Serve is an annual, global competition where top 16 New Zealand bartenders go head to head (literally), showing off their draught beer pouring skills in a bid to take the frothy crown and represent New Zealand in Amsterdam in October and compete for the title of the best bartender in the world.

On Thursday, competitors must excel in pouring the perfect draught beer, adhering to the five Heineken serving steps: rinse, pour, skim, check and serve.

Admission is open to the public and free, so come along and support your local barkeep as they seek to elevate the drinking experience. If that doesn't motivate you, there will be the opportunity to try your hand at pouring your own.
