Overview

Brews, boats and (undoubtedly) bucket hats; the Heineken Yacht club offers the best spot to get amongst the Volvo Ocean Yacht Race Auckland stopover, providing unparalleled water and race views, and all the refreshment a boatie could want.

The 2015 Auckland Stopover features a programme crammed full of live entertainment in the Volvo Ocean Race Village, with a variety of acts for all ages and interests - including The Black Seeds, Kapa Haka and children's entertainment. A huge range of activity options are also taking place in the Village, including the Another Day at the Office show and the chance to crawl inside the Cross Section of the VO65 in the Eastern Viaduct to find out how life is aboard and sailing with Yachting New Zealand from the Karanga Plaza steps.

The Auckland Stopover will also be hosting the One Ton Revisited Regatta, with visitors able to see the historic boats moored in the Viaduct Harbour when they are not racing. The race and the Heineken Pro-Am races are also taking place on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 March, along with the New Zealand Herald In-Port Race on Saturday 14 March.

With so much going on, punters will be well-deserving of a beverage or two, and the Heineken Yacht Club will be more than capable of fulfilling that requirement, offering visitors the chance to enjoy to step aside from all the various events and enjoy an ice cold Heineken in a relaxing environment that celebrates Auckland’s proud yachting heritage.
