Overview

For the fifth year running, chilli fiends will be able to fulfil their spiciest fantasies at Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen's Hot Sauce Festival. This year the event will be held over one spice-filled day on Saturday, 31 October.

New Zealand's top hot sauce brands will present their fiery condiments for you to enjoy or take home. Already lined up are Fire Dragon Chillies, Red Hot Kiwi Company, Jolokia Farm and Al's Laboratory, among several others. And for those who think that they're a dab hand at creating red-hot pulp, a homemade hot sauce competition will be judged by the local sauce consortium.

The main event will be the final of the 2020 NZ Chilli Eating Champs. Roll up to watch the country's strongest iron stomachs blow a gasket and ruin their weekends with the world's hottest chillies.

A themed street food menu will also be on offer at the inner city bar, and ice-cold beer won't be too far away to wash it all down. Brotherhood Musiq will kick off the music lineup for those who would prefer to get sweaty on the dance floor.
