Overview

Vans have been walking the streets of New Zealand for as long as we can remember, and not just by skaters.

House of Vans is where people go to create and feel inspired. Each venue is set up with art installations, workshops and concert stages, allowing the inspiration to flow the moment you step through the door. There's already one in Brooklyn, Chicago and in the old tunnels of Waterloo Station in London, and very soon there will be a pop-up opening in New Zealand.

The one-day event will kick off on January 20 at Shed 10, and will be open to all ages. You can expect to learn to skate with Young Guns Skate School, or if you're not up for a ride on a board, there's a skating photography workshop run by Manual Magazine.

There will also be tattoo and sneaker customisation from Two Hands Tattoos, you can book in an on-the-spot barber cut from Flash City, pick up some vinyl from Real Groovy Records and get all your skate hardware needs from Boardertown.
While you're perusing the merch and stalls, there's going to be a sick lineup of gigs on the day from Auckland hardcore stalwarts The Bleeders with support from Soaked Oats, Yukon Era, Jack Berry Band and Hollywoo DJs.

You'll be able to create your own sneaker design and pick up some expert tips from local artists. Sal's will hooking up the free pizza and Underground Coffee Roasters will have your danger brew sussed. It'll be a rad day out and entry is absolutely free.
