Overview

Aussie electronic producer Yahtzel is 2015’s first act at the multi-venue nightclub that is Imperial. George FM’s Imperial hijacks Auckland’s CBD, taking over The Roxy, Everybody’s and Imperial Lane with good tunes from a range of artists. And what better way to bring in Imperial 2015 than with half of the electronic duo from across the ditch, Carmada?

Made up of LDRU and Yahtzel, the two artists are made for each other. They performed back to back gigs over the past few years - sparking a promising friendship, and harmonious musical partnership. The two finally released a single together, 'The Only One', last March, a tune which satisfied many ears and led into their union as the joint act, Carmada. They’ve now performed together at Splendour in the Grass, Sterosonic and CIRCO Festival, and they’re still going strong.

Alas it is only Yahtzel making the trip to Imperial, though he is set to dominate the lower CBD with electric tunes that’ll be running through Aucklanders all night. Following the act is another Aussie, Melbourne native Torren Foot. Bass heavy house music that goes hand in hand with nightclubbing, he is known for high energy and aggressive twists. A host of local talent will be framing the two Australian acts on the night, including Terace, Beat Mafia and Mike Ross.

It’ll be a good one.
